Reliant Medical Group is seeking a Occupational Therapist to join our exciting and innovative organization!
Position: Full time 40 hours per week
Hours: Monday through Friday, one evening until 7pm
Occasional Saturday Mornings
Provides and documents the full range of Occupational therapy treatments and tests for all categories of patients, supervises supportive personnel and participates in educational services.
Conducts Occupational Therapy patient evaluations.
Specifies which definitive therapy assessment procedures are indicated.
Conducts definitive therapy testing and interprets patient data.
Performs treatment design planning and modification.
Designs and documents therapy plan of care. Modifies therapy goal or plan when required.
Evaluates, interprets and responds to changes in physiological state. Evaluates and implements treatments.
Designs and manages therapeutic program based on department standards.
Utilizes all appropriate equipment per department protocols and standards.
Fabricates splints and instructs patients on use, wear and care.
Utilizes knowledge and skills required to perform process involved in the delivery of age-appropriate patient care.
Communicates effectively with patients and caregivers. Provides and documents specific training related to patient’s dysfunction. Provides patient educational materials appropriate to patient and family needs.
Provides clinical instruction to affiliating Occupational Therapy and Occupational Therapist Assistant Students.
Trains assigned students for designated clinical affiliation experiences.
Documents all evaluations and treatments. Enters appropriate changes in the electronic medical record. Ensures documentation meets Medicare guidelines.
Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Regular, reliable and predicable attendance is required.
Doctorate, Master or Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy or Certificate in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited or approved by American Occupational Therapy Association. Licensure in Commonwealth of Massachusetts or licensure pending via examination or reciprocity. Current Certificate from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of various software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
