Hours: Full-time 38.75 hours a week 7:00AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday
No weekends or Holidays
Provides operational support to the Pharmacy Stores department. Responsible for ordering, receiving, maintaining, distributing and billing station medications. Works closely with clinical staff to respond to product inquiries. Processes vendor invoices for payment.
Fulfill medication orders for clinical sites and issue interdepartmental bills accordingly.
Send and receive vendor orders daily.
Perform monthly physical inventory and reporting.
Respond to product inquiries from clinical staff.
Process vendor invoices for payment.
Responsible for the procurement for a broad range of prescription, over-the-counter, other pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the automatic purchase order process.
Identifies and implements cost-saving opportunities such as special contracts or offers with manufacturers and suppliers following standard procedure.
Reviews out-of-stock report to ascertain product shortages. Determines temporary or permanent potential substitutes following standard procedure. Identifies and facilitates opportunities for cost-avoidance purchases.
Receives information related to drug recalls. Communicates to pharmacy sites and nursing stations as required. Maintains site records per policy and procedure.
Coordinates the processing of expired Schedules II-VI and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals with external vendor or others. Performs account reconciliation and maintains documentation per policy and procedure.
Acts as a liaison to Durable Medical Equipment Department for the procurement, distribution, and reconciliation of equipment and related supplies.
Acts as a liaison to the primary and secondary wholesalers, state for state supplied vaccine procurement and others.
Works with pharmaceutical manufacturers to maintain a high level of service relating to recalls, product shortages, new product introductions, Schedule II-V compliance and other related information.
Ensures computer interface integrity with regular testing and a back-up plan for the procurement of pharmaceuticals when required per policy and procedure.
Communicates pharmaceutical information to the organization’s sites regarding all facets of drug distribution, returns and recalls, and other related information.
Conducts and coordinates physical inventory at Pharmacy Stores and other assigned sites. Runs reports as necessary to support physical inventory. Reconciles and produces final inventory as required. Maintains records per policy and procedure.
Performs audits at medication stations as required or directed. Ensures DPH regulations and policy and procedures are being met. Ensures the appropriate storage of medications/supplies, security of medications/narcotics/supplies, maintenance of refrigerators and temperatures, emergency medication boxes, etc. Resolves discrepancies within position scope.
Mixes allergy serums, skin testing trays and acts as clinic support for assigned departments. Works with physicians setting up new patients with appropriate charts as directed.
Participates in special projects and back up coverage as required or directed. Produces a variety of reports and other information as required or directed.
Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Regular, reliable and predicable attendance is required.
