Reliant Medical Group is seeking a Assistant Controller to join our excited and innovative organization!
Assists the corporate controller in directing the organization's accounting functions and financial policies. Establishes and maintains the organization's accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Oversees financial functions including the management of accounts payable, cash management/accounts receivable, payroll, accounting, and financial reporting. Accountable for maintenance of the general ledger, production of monthly financial statements, maintaining accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. Initiates and implements new financial systems as required. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Manages and directs the accounting team, including monthly production of financial statements.
Maintains accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, including a system of controls over accounting transactions.
Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial reports, including Consolidated Balance Sheet, Statement of Operations, and Statement of Cash Flows.
Maintains financial accounting systems necessary to maintain reporting requirements and changes to the company’s organizational structure. Also includes maintenance of chart of accounts.
Investigates, analyzes and resolves reporting discrepancies. Reports significant unexplained variances to internal/external customers.
Conducts account reconciliations in accordance with established schedules.
Oversees Payroll department. Ensures adherence to company payroll policy. Works with Human Resources to correlate policy with practice.
Oversees Cash Management/Accounts Receivable department. Ensures all banking and cash handling policies and procedures are adhered to; monitors cash flow to ensure cash requirements are met.
Oversees Accounts Payable department. Ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Documents and updates accounting policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure that proper controls and segregation of duties exists.
In conjunction with the controller, oversees year-end audit with external auditors for all companies, including the preparation, review and assignment of year-end audit schedules.
Provides support to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for cash flow forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, company divestitures, consolidation and any strategic initiatives at hand.
Continually evaluates processes and procedures striving for greater accuracy and less rework.
Ensures that assigned areas comply with clinic established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with organization-wide initiatives.
Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc. Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirement.
Ensures compliance to all health and safety regulations and requirements.
Performs similar or related duties as required or directed.
Regular, reliable and predictable attendance is required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, MBA or CPA preferred and 7 to 10 years of accounting experience. Requires knowledge of own area of functional responsibility and working knowledge of multiple related functions. Minimum of 2 to 4 years of demonstrated finance leadership within a health care delivery system or other large financial organization. Extensive knowledge of financial reporting and analysis in the healthcare environment; demonstrated collaborative management and team building skills; excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation, problem solving and accounting skills; attention to detail; and ability to interact with individuals at various levels of the organization. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, etc.
