Provides general imaging under the direction of the Manager and/or Supervisor, utilizing independent judgment to provide radiologic exams to patients while adhering to department organizational policies, procedures and standards.


  •  Performs necessary front end computer related tasks such as registration of patients, collecting co-pays and other financial obligations from the patient.
  • Demonstrates the ability to educate the patient and family on the exam being performed.
  • Follow AIDET and provide quality care based on The Reliant Experience.
  • Confirms the exam being performed following the department’s STOP protocol. (Confirm the order in EPIC. Confirm with patient: name, DOB, Body part being imaged and RT/LT)
  • Routinely provides radiographic imaging by operating imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as necessary. (Pigg-O-Stat, Weight bearing foot platform, etc)
  • Displays ability to work in multiple general diagnostic sites. Rotates as necessary to perform all procedures of the department.
  • Evaluates digital images for technical quality and seeks advice when necessary. 
  • Produces quality images and conforms to department standards. 
  • Troubleshoots and problem solves certain factors before calling service. 
  • Maintains sound employee radiation safe practices that are in compliance with ALARA and the standards set by the State of Massachusetts. Does not hold patients while radiation is being emitted.
  • Screens all female patients for the possibility of pregnancy prior to imaging.
  • Wears proper shielding devices when necessary for self-protection. 
  • Wears film badge(s) at all times while in the department.
  • Appropriately shields all patients with lead shields.
  • Checks the supplies in the department on a daily basis and communicates low stock levels. 
  • Stocks and rotates stocks on shelves with replacements when supplies arrive. 
  • Utilizes LIFO (last in, first out) method of inventory.
  • Sets up sterile trays pertinent to each procedure.
  • Maintains or reports on established supply shelf levels for the department.
  • When applicable: Completes cross training program.
  • Maintains proficiency of skills learned.











  • Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as DPH, ARRT, etc. (Renewal and CEU requirements)
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
  • Regular, reliable and predicable attendance is required, in addition to reporting to work on time.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc. 
  • Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.


  • Two year program with accredited school of Radiologic Technology with an Associate Degree.   
  • Registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) 
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Radiology Technology 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills 
  • Current CPR certification.
