Full Time: 40 hours
Monday - Friday: 8:00AM - 4:30PM
Supports the medical staff through a variety of accountabilities including education and support, conducting credentialing verifications in accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring ongoing monitoring and compliance as it relates to practitioners’ credentials, completing affiliation applications and other related duties.
Partners with the Senior Medical Staff Affairs Specialist to credential new physicians and advanced practitioners. Primary credentialing accountabilities - generates inquiries to the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB), verifies in writing to the primary source patient care affiliations, malpractice insurance history, education and training.
Interfaces with practitioners and appropriate agencies/institutions to verify information and resolve discrepancies.
Supports and provides backup for all initial and recredentialing processes.
Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
Associates Degree or equivalent work experience with three to five years’ experience in credentialing. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge of a variety of software products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Demonstrated knowledge of credentialing process. Credentialing related certification (CPCS and/or CPMSM) and knowledge of CACTUS Software preferred.
