Overview

Reliant Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant/Research Specialist to join our excited and innovative organization! 

 

Position: Full time 38.75 hours per week

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30AM - 5:00PM

Occasional Weekends as needed 

No Holidays 

5 Year temporary project

 

This position includes floating to a variety of RMG sites as well as community outreach events and will require some weekend and evening hours.

Performs a variety of duties involving assisting with recruitment and enrollment of potential study participants for the All of Us Research Program.  Assists in booking enrollment visits, obtains informed consent, and subject questionnaires, as needed.  Performs physical measurements, vital signs and phlebotomy. 

 

Responsibilities

Assists in recruitment of study participants at Reliant Medical Group sites as well as community outreach events.

 

Assists with expansion and set up at new sites and community events.

 

Assists with obtaining electronic informed consent and questionnaires, and answers questions from participants.

 

Conducts physical measurement and vital signs, and performs phlebotomy (blood draws) on research participants.

 

Prepares and coordinates shipment of biospecimens to the study Biobank.

 

Supports multiple study functions such as participant check in and out, answering phone, scheduling, etc., and provides cross-coverage to clerical roles, as directed

 

Demonstrates accuracy in recording data using HealthPro.

 

Books appointments, verifies patients demographics data in EPIC.

 

Participates in orientation and staff development activities, as requested.

 

Identifies emergency situations and reports them to the appropriate personnel.

 

Interacts effectively with study participants and team members.

 

Prioritizes and organizes work responsibilities and functions independently.

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. MA certification desirable but not required.  Successful completion of medical assistant program.  Ability to perform or be trained to perform phlebotomy. Up to 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) or completed within 90 days of date of hire for positions in direct patient care areas.  Knowledge of a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, etc.  Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and computer skills. Must have strong analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
