Position: Per Diem (as needed) 

Hours: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm - Varies

Occasional Weekends, Occasional Holidays 

  • This is a Multi-Modality position which requires being registered in CT Scan AND X-Ray.
  • Must be competent in IV injections for CT Scan.
  • It is a requirement to learn insurance processes and collect co-pays and deductible from patients.
  • Coverage at various sites is a requirement.

Responsibilities

Routinely provides radiographic diagnostic services by operating imaging equipment and other equipment/devices as necessary. Evaluates radiographs/CT Scans for technical quality and seeks advice when necessary. 

Produces quality Radiographs/CT Scans and conforms to department standards.

 

Maintains sound employee radiation safe practices that are in compliance with ALARA and the standards set by the State of Massachusetts. Wears film badge(s) at all times while in the department.

 

Provides care appropriate to the patient population served. Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to perform processes involved in the delivery of age-appropriate care.

 

In CT Scan; Administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist. Obtains and documents all pertinent history prior to administering contrast. Uses appropriate contrast media types pertaining to each exam.

Monitors patient effectively upon injecting any contrast media.

 

Practices sterile technique services as required. Maintains proper sterile and aseptic technique for patients and required sterile fields.

 

Qualifications

Two year program with accredited school of Radiologic Technology with an Associate Degree.

Must be Registered with the ARRT in BOTH of the following modalities:  Routine Radiography and CT Scan.

Meets ARRT continuing education credits.

Minimum of 2-3 years of Radiology Experience.

Commonwealth of Massachusetts registered Radiology Technology License.

Current CPR certification.
