Reliant Medical Group is seeking a Charge Entry/Processing Specialist to join our excited and innovative organization!


Full Time: 38.75 hours 

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 3:45PM


Processes and updates system with physician and other charge documents.  Works charge edit lists and other reports as requested.  Updates registration, insurance and demographic information in system. 




  • Batches, reviews and performs quality control checks on charge documents/encounter forms in preparation for charge entry. 
  • Contacts providers or their representatives regarding inappropriate, incomplete or unclear coding issues. As required, performs basic CPT/ICD-9 coding and provides quality review of previously coded services. 
  • Enters charges and other related data into computer within accuracy and productivity levels set by supervisor. 
  • Performs charge corrections as directed. 
  • Completes insurance and demographic registration updates as directed. 
  • Processes charge edit lists according to established procedures. 
  • Reports accurate productivity and other data as requested by supervisor. 
  • Cooperates fully with all governmental and third party insurer audits. 
  • Adheres to all corporate and governmental compliance issues as directed. 
  • Performs other duties as required by supervisor. 
  • Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc. 
  • Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. 
  • Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.  
  • Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed. 
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed. 
  • Regular, reliable and predicable attendance is required.


  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • One year third party billing experience or successful completion of related college course
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICP-9 Coding
  • Ability to accurately type 35 words per minute
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must demonstrate a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers and co-workers
